Aircraft Ratings

At V2 Helicopters, we offer comprehensive aircraft endorsement services
designed to help you expand your skills and gain the confidence to pilot a variety of helicopters safely. We specialise in providing exceptional training for a diverse range of aircraft, from the nimble Robinson R22 to the powerful Jetranger.

Our experienced, professional, and friendly instructors ensure that your learning experience is both enriching and enjoyable. We adhere to the CASA stipulation that endorsement training is competency-based, with no minimum hours. However, as a company policy, we recommend a minimum of 5 hours for an endorsement to strike the right balance between exposure to the aircraft and cost-effectiveness.

Flight Instructor Rating

The Flight Instructor Rating Brisbane course at V2 Helicopters allows pilots to expand their skills and build flight hours. The course has two components: theory and flying. The theory section includes lessons on the principle methods of instruction (PMI) and dealing with various student personalities. The flying component involves 40 hours of flight time and in-depth lesson briefings.

The training encompasses various instructional aspects, such as managing the learning process, giving briefs, providing feedback, and dealing with different types of students. Completion requires passing a Pilot Instructor Rating Common examination (PIRC). The course cost is provided on the application and includes 30 hours of flight training in an R22 helicopter, theory tuition, and a flight test.

The licence conversion process is thorough and carefully designed to ensure the highest standards of safety and competency. Sling Endorsement
(Short and Long Line)

This training is particularly essential for pilots involved in industries such as construction, fire fighting, and rescue operations. By learning how to precisely manage underslung loads, pilots can significantly contribute to the effectiveness and efficiency of these vital services. It’s a skill that enhances safety and operational capacity in challenging environments where traditional methods of transport may not be feasible. By enrolling in this course, pilots are not just learning a new skill; they’re opening new career avenues and becoming part of a select group of professionals capable of executing complex aerial operations.

Low-Level Endorsement

V2 Helicopters offers a low-level endorsement course that provides training for low-level flying which leads into herding livestock, agricultural spraying and powerline inspections with a helicopter. It’s a specialized skill
predominantly used in Australia and the US. The course is designed for pilots who already hold a Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) or higher. The flying component includes 5 hours of flight training, focusing on essential skills for low-level flying, confined area operations, and emergency procedures. A flight test will be required at the end to grant the endorsement.

Requirements

Includes

Night VFR Rating

V2 Helicopters offers a comprehensive Night Rating course designed to equip pilots with the necessary skills and confidence to navigate the skies after sunset or before sunrise. The course consists of at least 10 hours of instruction in the Robinson R44 helicopter, a reliable aircraft well-suited to night-time operations. Once a safe and competent standard has been reached, a 2-hour flight test is required to achieve the Night VFR Rating. This demonstrates the pilot’s ability to safely operate the aircraft under visual flight rules during night-time conditions. The curriculum covers various important aspects of night flying, including navigation, operation within controlled airspace, and effective use of flight instruments. A proficiency check is conducted every year to ensure pilots maintain their skills, and a flight review is required every two years.
