Night VFR Rating
V2 Helicopters offers a comprehensive Night Rating course designed to equip pilots with the necessary skills and confidence to navigate the skies after sunset or before sunrise. The course consists of at least 10 hours of instruction in the Robinson R44 helicopter, a reliable aircraft well-suited to night-time operations. Once a safe and competent standard has been reached, a 2-hour flight test is required to achieve the Night VFR Rating. This demonstrates the pilot’s ability to safely operate the aircraft under visual flight rules during night-time conditions. The curriculum covers various important aspects of night flying, including navigation, operation within controlled airspace, and effective use of flight instruments. A proficiency check is conducted every year to ensure pilots maintain their skills, and a flight review is required every two years.
